Its a very cool deadbolt mask now that I know. I'm a big fan of the text across your forehead. But I still can't figure out why the letters are backward. Other than you might of been looking in a mirror. But even then, wouldn't you reverse image back to its original state? On a scale of 1-10 for masks that I've I seen you make, I give it a 10. It looks like you put some time into this one.
I've been trying to figure out how you got it to stick to your face but LSD has perhaps discovered the answer ... because the image is backwards ... is this thing mounted to a window? You are standing behind it and somebody else is taking your picture?
Its still there dude. I don't know why you can't see it. As for your mask idea, I think its great. I think it could be a lot of fun. Also many (if not all) objects in contemporary society hold an intrinsic allegoric value to them. For instance, outlets bring up allusions to connectivity, receptivness, electrical shock and thus pain. Deadbolts bring allusions of fear, safty or lack of, toughness ect. I find both of your masks a little sinsister and scary as well as being sort of cute (forgive the term). I think its a real challenge to somehow imbue these relatively mundane and quiet objects with such power. Good work.
One more thing, can you speak to your readers about your choices of objects thus far? Why did you choose them? What will you work on next. And my own personal curiosity, why the female theme? In both cases thuse far you have chosen vessels designed to have an outside piece inserted into them. I think that is really fascinating.
YES!! It is exactly those things one can draw from objects that I wish people to face by looking at it upon my own face. "sinister and scary as well as being sort of cute" is definitely what I want you to feel. Unsettling. Yet mundane. I love it. I have about 12 ideas kicking around up there and they are all easy to make. Thank you, LSD. This was a very encouraging comment. None of you will be disappointed by these.
As for why these objects so far, the first was an "outlet for External Validation"
The second was just to find another face in objects but you calling it The Liberator is funny as fuck. They are both quite feminine in the implications. I'm sure my shrink would have a field day explaining why... Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I find it easier to communicate with women....
Geez ... and I had this great theory about how somebody was shooting you through plate glass. No real rationale about why a MEDECO logo would be floating in the centre of a window but ...

It a little too sophisticated I think. Cause I don't know what it is? Maybe I'm just out touch. Yeah, thats pretty much the problem.
that's funny cause i see it exactly
course i know what it is...
its a deadbolt lock that unfortunately needed screws on the face so I could justify eyes.
So, how much do I suck that I have yet to change your link. Hit me over the head and remind me!!!!!!!!!!

lsd- I am thinking I'm going to start a mask project. at least 10 pieces. All objective.
as for the backward text, this is nothing more than a webcam issue. iSights take a mirror of what they see.
and hey, didn't you leave a comment about a performance piece? That was funny as all fucking hell. Where did it go?
HJ- it is only foamcore with a photoshoped image on it. I used packing tape folded in half and fixed it in a loop just the right size. Lika a bandana.
